Breakr and SeeHer launch accelerator for women artists

The latest effort to support emerging women artists comes from a partnership with influencer marketplace Breakr and campaigning group SeeHer.

Earlier this year they launched a competition to choose three artists for a four-week accelerator program, under the banner of #HerBigBreakContest. Last week, the three winners were announced: Amanda AdamsBrianna Knight and D’anna Stewart.

They’ll now take part in the program, which includes mentorship from executives drawn from companies and organisations including Spotify, Instagram, Hitco and Girls Make Beats, as well as Breakr and SeeHer.

“Last year, women made up less than a quarter of artists and less than fifteen percent of songwriters across popular songs. There is clearly more work to be done and our partnership with Breakr is a key first step to help emerging artists,” said SeeHer president Jeannine Shao Collins.
