There’s a challenge faced by any live concert or event that is raising money and/or awareness around the climate emergency: how to mitigate your own climate impact? Atlantis Concert for Earth may be a useful case study in how one organisation is trying to tackle the issue.
It’s being described as a “zero-to-low emission hybrid event”, taking place in Portugal with artists including Black Eyed Peas, Stone Temple Pilots, Pitbull and (via a virtual performance) Sting. Quite the supergroup in the making.
The organisers are working with A Greener Festival to calculate carbon emissions from the festival, and reduce or remove them.
Meanwhile, livestreaming firm Veeps will be broadcasting the event online, with a free stream and a click-to-donate button that will support conservation partners.
