Apple Music gets BTS Radio as Shazam tests Apple Maps guides

K-Pop stars BTS are turning their hands to radio presenting, with a three-part show that will be exclusive to Apple Music. ‘BTS Radio: Past & Present‘ kicked off this weekend as part of the promotional campaign for compilation album ‘Proof’, which comes out on 10 June. The shows will track the group’s journey from fresh-faced newcomers to global pop stars, including some cherry-picked favourite tracks of the BTS Army.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Apple empire, Shazam has a very interesting tie-up with Apple Maps. Apple’s music-ID service has launched a series of curated guides within the mapping app, initially focused on music venues and clubs in London. Each guide will let fans tap through to see what events are coming up in those venues, then – through another recently-launched feature, Shazam’s concert pages – find tickets if they want to go. More cities will follow London in the near future.
