Music creation firm BandLab has reached another big milestone: 50 million users registered on its platform. That means it has added 20 million since March 2021, when it passed the 30 million mark.
The company is celebrating the latest figure by launching a ‘Creator Grant’ initiative: $60k to be distributed annually between some of the most promising musicians BandLab spots using its service. Five have been announced as recipients of the 2022 grant, which suggests they’re getting $12k each.
“There’s absolutely no obligation from BandLab as to content ownership, we are just truly here to support the creator in their journey,” stressed CEO Meng Ru Kuok.
The milestone and initiative follows BandLab’s recent funding: a $65m Series B round that valued the company at $315m.
