beatstar mobile game

Well, ‘Don’t You Worry’ isn’t just a new Black Eyed Peas track: it’s a collaboration with Shakira and David Guetta. Quite the supergroup, and their new single will be premiered in mobile game Beatstar.

That’s the music rhythm game launched last August by developer Space Ape Games, which in turn is majority-owned by mobile games giant Supercell (of Clash of Clans fame). It’s the first time a new release has debuted in Beatstar before its official launch date.

Alongside the announcement, Space Ape Games offered some new stats on Beatstars’ success so far. It has been played by more than 30 million people, and is currently the top grossing music game globally. The developer reckons that ‘high-performing’ tracks can be played up to 1.1m times a day within the game.

“Interest in Beatstar has exploded since we started featuring day and date releases of new songs from top artists in the game, and having the ability to play a song in Beatstar even before release on streaming is a game changer all around,” said co-founder Simon Hade.
