French startup Stage11 raised €5m of funding last October for its plans to create branded virtual worlds for artists. Now the company has given people a peek at its first one.

The David Guetta Experience will be released in 2023, and is described as a “music metaverse adventure” to save the future of music. “A high-definition 3D avatar of David will lead players on the quest, taking an epic sci-fi journey where you will battle alongside his musical friends including Snoop Dogg, Akon and Ne-Yo,” is how the company is describing it, noting that the soundtrack will be a new DJ set from Guetta too.

There’s a teaser video on YouTube, but Stage11 also wants some fans to test out the game in its playable-demo form this autumn. How? It’s giving away 1,000 NFT ‘tickets’ to fans who enter an online raffle. A box to tick to agree to receive updates on “future NFT sales” hints at part of the planned business model behind all this.
