We don’t tend to write that many individual stories about people moving jobs and getting promoted: there’s too much other news from the global music and tech industries to cover! But we want to find a way of gathering such stories, so we’re going to try a regular ‘moves news’ slot.

Starting with the news that Spotify has poached Apple Music’s head of R&B, programming Alaysia Sierra to be its new head of R&B. She’ll be working with another former Apple Music exec, Carl Chery, at the streaming service.

Meanwhile, Spotify has lost its head of music business development Karibi Dagogo-Jack. He has joined Roblox as its head of music partnerships, with the gaming firm’s previous head of music Jon Vlassopulos having departed in April.

Finally, congratulations to Molly Neuman, who is moving within Downtown Music Holdings from her role as president of Songtrust to chief marketing officer for the entire group.

Music Ally’s next Learn Live webinar will help you build the strategies for artists to thrive in new international markets!
