Apple has unveiled two new ways for artists to work with Apple Music on exclusive material. Apple Music Sessions will involve filming and recording performances in the company’s studios around the world, starting in Nashville with Carrie Underwood and Tenille Townes. The performances will be made available as spatial audio tracks and music videos within Apple Music. Although Nashville is the launch city, with more country acts already lined up, the plan is to expand the sessions to other genres and cities. Meanwhile, Apple Music UK is launching Antidote Editions, based on its ‘Antidote’ alternative-music playlist. Here, artists will record four exclusive versions of songs – album tracks and covers – in spatial-audio versions which will be added to their latest album on Apple Music. Beabadoobee is the first artist to benefit.
