Back in 2019, startup VRJam launched an equity-crowdfunding campaign to raise £250k for its plans to build ‘interactive virtual environments for artists and fans’. Three years (and one global pandemic!) later, the company has launched its ‘5th Dimension‘ virtual world in closed beta. It’s been designed to host live music performances and DJ sets, as well as talks and educational sessions. The launch follows VRJam’s announcement in June of a ‘Creator Guild’ community of artists and DJs who would use its platform, as well as its first NFT with Junior Sanchez. That’s one fo the changes since VRJam first emerged in 2019: it’s now weaving web3 elements into its music-multiverse plans. The company has also announced an advisory board including NWA’s Arabian Prince, Beatport co-founder Jonas Tempel, and former Beats By Dre EVP (and now DropLabs CEO) Susan Paley.
