Shame on you if you think Rednex’s ‘Cotton Eye Joe’ is the be-all and end-all of the country/dance crossover! Shame on us for giving you that particular earworm for the rest of the day!

But no, there’s a fertile crossover between the country and EDM genres in the US, and it’s being explored in the latest new show on Apple Music Radio. The show is called ‘YeeDM‘ (it’s okay to wince at this) and is hosted by DJ Telemitry. Country and EDM collaborations, as well as remixes, are on its agenda.

“You might hear a Dolly Parton edit going into Jack Harlow, or going into Alesso or Diplo. You might hear everything from Megan Thee Stallion to George Strait in these mixes. You have a one-hour mix to blend all these worlds together,” said Telemitry.

The first episode aired on Friday (22 July) on the Apple Music Country station, and there’s a companion playlist too.
