Ooh La La? Not just one of our favourite old big-beat tracks, but now also a fledgling service to help people discover and listen to music NFTs.
It’s the work of a startup called SpiderVille, which has just raised a $1m pre-seed funding round to continue developing Ooh La La. The idea: a service to aggregate people’s music NFT collections so they can listen and arrange them into playlists, while also discovering new tracks that are trending in the web3 world.
“Despite music NFTs promising a more equitable system for artists than streaming, it is difficult for new users to discover them. So we’ve pulled them together in a single interface for users to easily navigate fresh musical content,” said CEO Hyug Bin Kwon.
Ooh La La is live now in alpha form with lists of freshly-minted tracks; playlists for various moods, activities and genres; trending music NFTs; and profiles of new artists.
Beyond Music’s parent company Contents Technologies is one of the investors in the funding round, along with the Samsung Next fund.
