Streaming service Jazzed launched in the UK in 2020 with a focus on jazz, soul and blues music. Having expanded to Germany, now it has been acquired by livestreaming firm FanTracks.
Its plan is to combine the two services by the end of this year with “a deeper app-based experience for selected communities, starting with rock and jazz and scaling to additional genre verticals”. Pay-per-view livestreams will be key to that.
That’s just the start of FanTracks’ plans however: it’s also mulling how web3 meshes with its model. “The Jazzed platform will now sit at the heart of FanTracks vision to scale across other music genres and add web3 product features such as NFTs and metaverse experiences,” said CEO Ty Roberts, the former Universal Music Group executive.
