We are family! I got all my sisters, my mother, my father and my hugely lucrative new lines of merch and skincare products with me! That’s what the D’Amelio clan may be singing this week, after announcing $6m in funding for their new D’Amelio Brands venture.
It’s the umbrella company for the merch’n’products businesses of TikTok royalty Charli and Dixie D’Amelio (and their parents), as they take more control over this side of their incomes. Whereas in the past the sisters have put their names to products made by external partners, D’Amelio Brands is about taking more of that in-house, starting (according to Bloomberg) with women’s footwear and skincare products later this year.
The investors in the $6m round are quite the lineup too: Apple’s media boss Eddy Cue is one of them, alongside talent agency UTA and Michael Rubin, CEO of sports-licensing giant Fanatics.
