Gramrphone emerged in 2020 in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, as one of the startups trying to help artists audio-livestream to fans from their homes or studios. Two and a half years later, it’s pressing on with building its business and adding more features.
The latest is an innovative integration with TikTok, so that artists can play live from their studio for their TikTok followers. “Over the last year TikTok repeatedly came up as the platform musicians wanted to stream to,” said co-founder Graham Allen as the new feature launched.
It’s part of a run of such integrations for the startup, with Boomplay, Mixcloud and Bandcamp among its recent announcements of this kind. The company is now setting its sights on other potential partners in the music streaming and social media worlds, while also saying that it has “one eye on the future of live music consumption via web3 and gaming platforms”.
