Venice Music Collective is the company founded by Q&A’s Suzy Ryoo and Troy Carter earlier this year: an artist services and distribution operation with added NFTs. The latter were initially used as a membership token / access pass, but now the company is opening up to a wider community of independent musicians.
The model is subscription-based, with a basic tier of $60 a year for distribution (including payments management, analytics etc) as well as support and access to a community Discord. A $500-a-year ‘Professional’ plan includes access to the company’s Venice House facility with recording studios and equipment; helps out with sync submissions and marketing/playlist strategy; and other networking, education and partner discounts. Finally, an invitation-only ‘Premium’ tier ties into Venice’s artist services and sync teams, with music video distribution as well.
The launch is being promoted with seven days of digital events that started on 12 September, with in-person meetups and showcases to come later in the year.
