facebook pages changes

Meta has unveiled some new features for ‘creators who use Pages’ on Facebook, which could be of use to musicians. They include ‘creator endorsements’ where someone can invite their followers to also follow another creator who they like (or eg are signed to the same management company or label as). The social network will also have some new ‘rising creator’ labels to showcase “up-and-coming creators who are the best at building engaging communities on Facebook”.

However, perhaps most relevant for artists is a new post setting that allows content to be restricted to their top fans (a ranking automatically calculated by Facebook) and paying subscribers. “Coming soon: settings that enable early access to special content,” promised the company. There are also new templates for Facebook posts and stories that automatically mention top fans “so that you can easily show appreciation for their support”.

The full details were published by Meta in a thread on, ahem, Twitter.
