As the short-video battle between TikShorts, YouTok, SnapTube and Instachat intensifies (so much so, we’re starting to get a little confused) so education is becoming an important aspect of that competition. Every platform wants to teach creators how to make the most of its key features, and hopefully court them to give it priority.

Witness Meta’s latest announcement, which is that the Meta/Instagram ‘Creator Week’ is returning for its second iteration early in November. Tubefilter reported that there will be invitation-only in-person events in LA, Bali, Sāo Paulo, London and Delhi, but that (unlike last year’s inaugural event) the virtual programming will be free to anyone who wants to watch.

NFTs, brand deals, ‘Reels Mythbusting’ and a collaboration between Instagram Reels creators and Meta’s Horizon Worlds metaverse are already confirmed for the LA event.
