Amazon Music is going to be livestreaming weekly music concerts, but not through the sister service you might expect. ‘Amazon Music Live’ will air every Thursday on Amazon Prime Video. It’s also got a prominent slot, right after its ‘Thursday Night Football’ American-football broadcasts.

The new show will see a different artist performing each week from a venue in Los Angeles, starting with Lil Baby on 27 October. Megan Thee Stallion (3 November) and Kane Brown (10 November) are the next stars lined up to perform, while hip-hop artist 2 Chainz will host the show and interview the artists.

Amazon said that besides streaming live on Thursdays, each show will be available for on-demand viewing for “a limited time” afterwards. It’s also big news for Dice, which will be Amazon Music’s partner to sell tickets to furnish the show with its live audience.

Given the high-profile nature of Amazon’s move into live American football, throwing music into the mix is a positive move.

Music Ally’s next Learn Live webinar will help you understand what’s required for artists to thrive in new international markets!
