Gixon is a startup from Finland that aims to make it easier to book artists for live performances. Having launched in its homeland in 2021, it is now rolling out in London as part of a longer-term UK-wide launch.
The service is provided through a mobile app, and is setting its sights on anyone booking artists for live performances, with musicians setting their own pricing. People can use the app to book artists to perform as soon as the same day.
“Whilst Gixon was originally designed to allow anyone to book music for their home or party we received far greater outreach from across the business,” said co-founder Mikko Haapala, formerly of Live Nation / Ticketmaster and UMG. “The likes of promoters looking for acts for their venues, restaurants and bars seeking to book entertainment for their establishments, hotel chains looking to book high-quality local acts across their properties, record labels looking at promising new artists to sign and agents looking for new acts to add to their roster.”
