Streaming service Deezer has a new chief marketing officer: Maria Garrido.
She’s the former global chief insights and analytics officer at Havas Group, as well as a senior vice president at Vivendi, leading its brand marketing practice.
Garrido’s predecessor as Deezer CMO was Alexis de Gemini, who stepped down in April 2022. She is joining Deezer four months after the company went public through a SPAC merger.
“It’s an exciting time to become a part of this tech and entertainment gem, as it steers a course towards transformational growth,” said Garrido in a statement.
Deezer recently rolled out its partnership with German media giant RTL, which has launched its own music-streaming app called RTL+ Musik powered by Deezer.
The company’s latest financial results revealed that its revenues grew by 13.8% year-on-year to €115.2m in the third quarter of 2022, and that it currently has 5.6 million direct subscribers, and another 3.8 million through its B2B partnerships.
At an investor day event held in October, Deezer said that a “marketing refocus’ was a key plank in its strategy for growth. That’s what Garrido will now be in charge of.
