Warner Music Group’s latest label has a wide-ranging geographic focus: artists from regions including Africa, India, the Middle East, Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The label is called Out Of Order, and it’s the work of Warner Music’s Emerging Markets division. The plan is to release 10-track albums focusing on specific territories and their local scenes.
The first release, ‘OOO: AFRO’, includes Afrobeats, amapiano and house tracks from African artists, as a partnership with Warner Music Africa. A second compilation will follow from Indian artists early in 2023.
Also interesting: Out Of Order won’t just release albums; it will host a weekly online radio show with 60-minute DJ mixes inspired by individual tracks from those albums. The show will be distributed through Audiomack, SoundCloud and YouTube.
