Amazon Music really is throwing its full weight behind British artist Stormzy’s new album. We reported earlier this week on its plans for a three-day pop-up in London devoted to the album, but now Friday’s release of ‘This Is What I Mean’ will also be followed by a Stormzy special event.
Held at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, it will blend performances of old and new tracks with chat and special guests. The event will be broadcast on Amazon Music UK’s Twitch channel, as well as Amazon Prime Video, on Wednesday 30 November.
As with the pop-up, this is all happening under the brand of +44, Amazon Music’s flagship Black music playlist in the UK. Stormzy is also among the artists featuring in Amazon’s annual Christmas originals initiative, with a new orchestral take on his track ‘Firebabe’.
