Audius 1500x500

web3 streaming service Audius is making its payments features more accessible to mainstream music fans, by opening them up for credit and debit cards.

Via an integration with payments tech firm Stripe, people will now be able to buy Audius’s $AUDIO tokens without needing cryptocurrency. Those tokens can then be used to tip musicians on the service.

“Along with Stripe, we are thrilled to be providing the industry with a tool it has long needed – a customisable, efficient, inexpensive onramp allowing fans to support and tip their favourite artists seamlessly,” said CEO Forrest Browning.

It certainly cuts out several friction points for any Audius listeners who don’t want to use crypto, and continues the company’s focus on trying to make tipping a viable source of artist earnings.

$AUDIO launched in February this year, with tipping following as an update feature in August.
