We already knew that the boss of the UK’s independent labels body AIM, Paul Pacifico, was stepping down and heading off to a new job in Saudi Arabia. But who will replace him?

This morning that’s been announced: AIM’s new CEO is Silvia Montello. She’s the former BMG and Kobalt executive, who has also held positions at Blokur and Audio Network in recent years.

Montello became CEO of the Association For Electronic Music (AFEM) in April this year, but will now be taking the reins at AIM as Pacifico departs.

“Our industry is evolving at an ever-increasing pace, that evolution bringing with it both fresh opportunities around music consumption and creation, audience development, new technology solutions, alongside existing and future challenges for our community to work together to overcome,” said Montello in a statement.
