gigfinesse

GigFinesse is the latest startup trying to make it easier for venues to book artists, and for artists to find venues to play in. The company has just raised a $3.6m seed-funding round to continue building its service. VC firms Bessemer Ventures Partners and Cosmic Venture Partners were among the investors in the round, which GigFinesse said would help it expand to more cities in the US. The service works by getting artists to register their details, then providing venues who want to book musicians with recommendations from its database. GigFinesse also pays artists directly for their bookings using several models. They include ‘ticket minimums’ where an artist is paid for every ticket sold over a set minimum number, as well as flat-rate guaranteed fees.
