Mobile game PUBG Mobile has been exploring music for some time: working with Blackpink in 2020Anghami in 2021, and then Blackpink again this year for a virtual concert within the game.

Its next step is to edge more into the music industry itself by launching a label called Beat Drop. “We hope to inspire PUBG Mobile’s players with incredible and moving soundtracks to their in-game lives and beyond,” said Vincent Wang, head of PUBG Mobile publishing at Tencent Games, according to Esports Insider.

The Verge has more details of plans to work with “amazing up-and-coming artists” and “established icons” alike. A teaser video was published this week hinting at a focus on electronic music, while its first release appears to be a remix by Mexican DJ Mariana BO.
