Downtown Music Holdings logo - USE THIS ONE

One of the more acquisitive companies in the independent music space, Downtown Music Holdings, has swooped again. This time it’s buying royalty-processing firm Curve Royalty Systems, shortly after that company was a winner in our inaugural Music Ally SI:X awards.

Downtown said that Curve will continue serving its existing clients, who include the likes of Cooking Vinyl, Domino, Hospital Records and Ingrooves with the promise of “expanded resources, infrastructure, and global scale” to boost its business.

Curve has more than 1,000 label and publisher clients, and the company says it processed nearly $1bn of revenue and 2.3bn lines of data in 2022. C

urve will sit within the Downtown Music professional services division of Downtown Music Holdings, with sister companies (and fellow acquirees) including FUGA and CD Baby.

This story was amended on 18 January to remove the reference to ADA, which is not a client of Curve.

Music Ally’s next Learn Live webinar will help you understand what’s required for artists to thrive in new international markets!
