WIN is the umbrella global body for independent music, and it has a new boss – albeit one who is already part of its team.
Noemí Planas has been promoted from general manager to CEO, having joined the organisation in 2019 after 16 years at Spanish independent music body UFi.
WIN has also conducted its annual review of its board, appointing a new chair: Partisan Records COO Zena White. White is joined by three new directors on the board too: Gee Davy, COO of AIM in the UK; Geert de Blaere, MD of N.E.W.S in Belgium; and Tony Kiewel, president of Sub Pop in the US.
GoDigital Media Group’s Jason Peterson is also moving from board observer to board director at WIN.
“Together, we will work with our members and other industry bodies to promote best practices and advocate for transparency, fairness and a level playing field to ensure equal access and opportunity for all independents,” said Planas.
