In the music-streaming world ‘programming’ usually describes playlist curation. However, Amazon Music is increasingly active in the older sense of the word: creating TV shows.
This week it has announced two new weekly shows that will be aired on Twitch and also made available as podcasts. Both are spin-offs from existing Amazon Music playlists.
‘Rotation Roundtable’ will focus on hip-hop, with a mixture of interviews, debate and opinionated addresses based on current happenings.
It will be broadcast on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel every Wednesday, then be released as video and audio podcasts the following day.
‘La Semanal Live’ will train its attention on Latin music and pop culture with an emphasis on artist interviews and features, with an additional focus on women in Latin music for the rest of March.
This show will air on Fridays on the Amazon Music en Vivo Twitch channel, but according to Variety video clips will also be made available within the streaming service’s own app.
