In March 2022, Impala teamed up with YouTube for its showcase of emerging independent artists in Europe. A year on, it’s time to refresh the list, with the 2023 edition announced this morning.
It includes musicians from 30 countries across more than 35 genres, with some familiar names (Wet Leg, Raye) rubbing shoulders with brand new artists from across the continent.
A YouTube playlist showcasing the 100 has gone live this morning too, as well as genre-specific playlists.
“We hope this encourages both cross-border circulation and official recognition for the creative and innovative work by the independent sector,” said Impala executive chair Helen Smith.
“We have a mix of artists that have just been recognised during award season and others who are literally just emerging now.”
