Sony Music UK has teamed up with the UK’s Digital Catapult initiative to launch an accelerator for Black startup founders.
Launched today, the Black Founders Programme is a 16-week accelerator for pre-seed or seed-stage companies. Startups will get workshops, investment masterclasses, networking and mentorship as part of the programme.
It’s open to UK-based startups with at least one founder who identifies as Black, or multiracial with Black heritage. They need to be looking to raise investment in the next 6-9 months, and must be working in the digital entertainment space: so music, but also games, arts, or advertising.
The Digital Catapult is particularly keen on companies using technologies including AI; blockchain; virtual, augmented and mixed reality; and wearables/sensors/future networks.
The deadline for applications is 28 May: pass the link above on if you know a startup who’d be great for it.
