Country veteran Garth Brooks has never been afraid to plough his own furrow in digital music, from launching his own downloads store to making his catalogue exclusive to Amazon Music for streaming.
Now he’s found a partner to launch his own network of radio stations: TuneIn.
The popular radio app will be the host for Sevens Radio, a new venture offering “multiple stations dedicated to country music and more, all curated and conceived by Garth Brooks”. TuneIn is also dangling the prospect of “unique advertising opportunities” for brands across the new network of stations.
Sevens will launch on TuneIn this summer, although specifics (for example how many stations in total – yes, we’re hoping it’s seven to fully commit to the branding – and how they’ll be formatted) are under wraps for the time being.
It’s part of a busy start to 2023 for TuneIn, which has also recently launched a WSJ [Wall Street Journal] branded channel; added audiobooks; and expanded its partnership with Sonos.
