The Music Ally Creative Entrepreneur Programme
The Music Ally Creative Entrepreneur Programme
supported by Youth Music
Music Ally is delighted to announce a new creative entrepreneurship programme for UK youth in 2020 supported by our partners Youth Music together with Linkfire and Chartmetric and a network of industry mentors including Troy Carter and GENIUS

The programme will provide free skills and support to young people who want to understand how the modern music industry works but may not have the support or resources to access opportunities. The programme will be aimed at 18 – 25 years olds who want to make a difference in the modern industry, whether as artists & creators or as the next generation of entrepreneurs, but who lack access to traditional academic or vocational pathways.
It is supported by Youth Music, a UK charity that helps to give young people a chance to make music whatever their backgrounds. And we are grateful to Linkfire and Chartmetric for also providing free access to their tools to eligible participants in the programme.
The programme will launch in April and will run throughout the summer to give young people the chance to begin learning in a supported environment immediately while we go through this period of isolation. One participant will be presented with an award for Industry Skills at the Youth Music Awards in October.
The courses and information are online, and the support will also be online. We’re aiming to make this open to anyone who has a genuine interest and need so please do apply, or encourage someone you know and is eligible to apply if you think it can help.
Who Is This For?
This programme is aimed at young (up to 25 years of age) UK based artists, songwriters, creators, producers and entrepreneurs who lack access to traditional academic and vocational pathways.
What Do They Get Out Of It?
Participants will get access to specially configured learning pathways of Music Ally’s information and education content, including six months of certified video tutorials supported by a social platform for group interaction and regular check-in webinars. By the end of the programme, participants will have gained a deep understanding of the workings of the modern industry including how online releases and promotion work, from pre-release through to measuring impact and planing future campaign strategies.
Four scholars in the programme will go through to receive one-to-one mentoring with the Music Ally team and the programme mentors over a month, to help them develop their career, as well as free passes to our Sandbox Summit music marketing event in London. In addition, we will work with our partner mentors GENIUS and Troy Carter to provide additional ears, network and guidance to artists who reach the later stages of the programme. One person will be awarded at the Youth Music Awards in October.
We will also give all participants access to tools used by the industry thanks to the support from our partners Linkfire and Chartmetric. Using these tools will help the participants to understand their audience and connect their music to fans around the world.
The programme will help participants to understand how to build audiences worldwide and make a living from their art, giving them the knowledge and tools to have a lifelong career in music.
How To Apply
Click here to go through to the application page on the Youth Music website.
We’re asking all applicants to give their name and email address, plus a short hidden video explaining a bit about their situation and what they hope to get out of the programme.
We hope to include all eligible applicants and will be closing applications at the end of April.
“As a music entrepreneur myself I know how important it is to understand how the music business works and how to market yourself as an artist if you’re to stand a chance of success. I’ve been a fan of Music Ally myself for years now and we’ve worked with them closely and know how valuable their information is so I would encourage any budding artist or entrepreneur to apply.” GENIUS – programme mentor
