we7 launches its new technology platform
UK streaming music service we7 has launched its new technology platform, which will link streams to artist news, merchandise, ticketing and song lyrics. The company will work with partners for all this – for example, GigJunkie has signed on as a ticketing partner.
iTunes streaming music service coming in Q3?
CNET is reporting that Apple won’t have a streaming music service ready to launch with its iPad tablet this Saturday. Which isn’t a big surprise. However, more interestingly, it claims that label managers HAVE been told that Apple plans to launch such a service in the third quarter of this year.
MOG raises $9.5m for international expansion
US streaming music service MOG has raised $9.5 million of new funding from Menlo Ventures and Balderton Capital, which it plans to use to launch mobile apps, as well as to launch the service in the UK – its first territory outside North America. In December, MOG launched its All Access subscription service, which costs $5 a month.
