Fortnite reveals items and challenges for Travis Scott Astronomical event

Travis Scott is coming to Fortnite this weekend with his ‘Astronomical’ event. Ahead of the multiple performances, the game has added several Scott-themed virtual products to its item shop. Fans wanting all of them will be spending nearly $35.

Here’s how that breaks down. There’s an Astronomical Bundle including two skins (characters) – Travis Scott and an Astro Jack alter-ego – as well as two ‘back bling’ decorations. Its official price is 3,500 of Fortnite’s V-Bucks currency, although that’s currently discounted to 2,500.

A separate Astronomical Gear set costs 1,600 V-Bucks – currently discounted to 1,100 – and includes a Diamond Jack harvesting tool (a replacement for the game’s default pickaxe), a Goosebumps wrap to customise weapons, and a Head Banger emote (dance move).

Sandbox Issue 212: Packaged Goods. Bulking Up The Music Bundle

Lead: the recent spat between Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott over who should have been number 1 in the US is arguably less about ego (although there was some of that at stake) and more about the role bundling plays in boosting and maintaining album sales. Once a rare thing reserved for a few big […]

Nicki Minaj *really* isn’t happy with Travis Scott’s #1

After all the anticipation, Spotify may have gotten off lightly from last night’s episode of Nicki Minaj’s ‘Queen Radio’ show on Beats 1.

Instead, she went in on Travis Scott, who kept her off the top spot in the US album chart last week, as well as Billboard’s regulations on what can and can’t count towards the chart rankings.

Minaj vented her spleen entertainingly, while also making some serious points about the trend for bundling album sales in with merchandise and ticketing.

“Travis Scott is out here selling f***ing clothes, and he got y’all thinking he’s selling f***ing music. Sit your stupid ass down!” she said. “What we’re not gonna do is have this f***ing autotune man come up in here selling f***ing sweaters and telling y’all he sold half a million f***ing albums, ’cause he didn’t.”

The Travis Scott Instagram cash giveaway is real

Cue: “You couldn’t pay me to listen to [artist name here]” jokes. Yesterday, rapper Travis Scott posted on Instagram that he had $100,000 to give away to fans.

To be in with a chance of claiming some of the cash, fans had to respond with their Cash App username and the title of their favourite Travis Scott track. “I KNOW LIFE IS HETIC SO IM GIVING AWAY 100k TO THE FANS. LEAVE UR CASH TAG IN THE COMMENTS W/ UR FAVORITE TRAV SONG,” ran his full message.
